The Writing Machine

How does a Ballpoint Pen work? One way of explaining it is to describe its components: the ink cartridge, the ball, and the socket. Another way is to describe the process of writing.

How Ballpoint Pens Work

Ballpoint Design

The key to a ballpoint pen is, of course, the ball. This ball acts as a buffer between the material you're writing on and the quick-drying ink inside the pen. The ball rotates freely and rolls out the ink as it is continuously fed from the ink reservoir (usually a narrow plastic tube filled with ink).
The ball is kept in place -- between the ink reservoir and the paper -- by a socket; and while it is in tight, it still has enough room to roll around as you write. As the pen moves across the paper, the ball turns and gravity forces the ink down the reservoir and onto the ball, where it is transferred onto the paper. It's this rolling mechanism that allows the ink to flow onto the top of the ball and roll onto the paper you're writing on, while at the same time sealing the ink from the air so it does not dry in the reservoir.

Rizal (his characters)

The Many-Sided Personality
Filipinos and foreigners alike have paid tribute to Jose Rizal claiming that his place of honor in history is secure. It was his Austrian bosom friend, Professor Ferdinand Blumentritt, rector of the Imperial Atheneum of Leitmeritz, who said "Rizal was the greatest product of the Philippines and his coming to the world was like the appearance of a rare comet, whose rare brilliance appears only every other century." Another German friend, Dr. Adolf B. Meyer, director of the Dresden

19th Century: The Rise of Philippine Nationalism

I agree to most writers who are saying that the rise of Filipino Nationalism began in the 19th Century for in this century specifically in the year 1872 the three Fathers Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos and Jacinto Zamora showed their Martyrdom. It is because of their martyrdom that the Filipinos created a strong fervor to put a stop to oppression and liberate the country from the Spaniards.

READING LOG 1: Left Behind 2 (The Kids) Second Chance

First Entry              December 15, 2011
Part 1:

1. Reflect - It is really difficult for people, specifically for teens, to make a decision right away when something so upsetting happened to them. In the book, Judd, Vicki, Lionel, and Ryan were being left behind after the Rapture. I felt their loneliness having to stay on earth in the following 7 years of tribulation without their families. But, it was good that at least, they found each other in a church with Pastor Bruce Barnes who was reaching them out.

The Man and Woman of the Crowd

A Comparative Essay of Mahatma Gandhi and Sojourner Truth

Men are not the same with regard to color, gender, culture, and reasoning. But, equality needs to be distinguished from identity and similarity. Man is created by God, although not with similar features, but with equal functions: To love, to respect, and to treat each other fairly.

Indian Nationalist Mahatma Gandhi and American Abolitionist Sojourner Truth both spoke for equality. –The reality of equality amidst diversity.

Ang Unggoy nga Nagbilin sa Iyang Kasing-Kasing sa Usa ka Kahoy

(A Visayan Version of "The Monkey Who Left His Heart On a Tree")

Adunay usa ka unggoy nga gapuyo sa usa ka mabungahong kahoy. Naa siya'y amigo nga iho, ug kada-adlaw, ginabisita siya ni-ini ug ginahatagan pud niya kini sa mga bunga.

Jose Rizal, the National Hero

Jose Rizal is unquestionably a great hero and the greatest among the Filipinos.

Whether or not the Americans supported Rizal to be selected as the Philippine National Hero, he himself was already acclaimed as the most significant leader of his people before his dramatic death in Luneta on December 30, 1896 . He have already possessed in himself the greatness and courage a hero must have.

Jose Rizal: not an American-made hero

Although Governor Taft suggested the Philippine Commission to choose a national hero, it was not he who appointed RIZAL to be the one.

Out of Body Experience (part 2)

The OBE Components

People do not know that their souls are projected out of the body every night while they are sleeping. A Conscious Astral Travel is experienced by a few of the world’s population.

If you’re reading this, think of the events in your sleeping life to see if you have experienced a conscious AP.

Have you seen your sleeping body?
Have you dreamt of having a ghostly body that can pass through solid walls?
Have you dreamt of flying above your neighbor’s house?
Have you dreamt of traveling to a place that you have never seen before?

Out of Body Experience (part 1)

FACT: Humans have the ability to send their soul out of their body. Almost every night, our soul travels outside of our body while still being connected to it. This ability is what we call ASTRAL PROJECTION/TRAVEL (Out of Body Experience). (Ferolino 2011)

Remember lying on your bed with paralyzed muscles and disabled speaking/shouting skills?
You can’t move.
You can’t shout.
You can’t wake up.
